Move from an early product idea or incomplete design to something that can be reviewed, tested and prepared for manufacturing. The goal is to use each development step to answer the right technical questions before the next investment.
STARTING POINT
Start From the Information You Already Have
Projects can begin with a written description, sketch, reference product, photographs, 2D drawings, 3D CAD, a handmade sample or an existing prototype. We first identify what is known, what is still uncertain and what must be resolved before the next manufacturing decision.

BEFORE TOOLING
Engineering Before Tooling
Once the product design is developed, it should be reviewed for manufacturability before tooling begins. Structure, interfaces, assembly, material choice, wall thickness, draft, tolerances and other manufacturing risks are reviewed and the product design is finalized before mold design.

Prototype for a Specific Purpose
Use prototypes to evaluate the questions that matter at the current stage: appearance and ergonomics, fit and assembly, or functional behavior.

Functional prototyping supports practical review before the project moves into production tooling.
FILES AND METHODS
Existing Software and File Capability
The design team uses AutoCAD, Pro/E, SolidWorks and UG for part development, together with Mastercam for mold-related work. Common supported project files include EASM, DWG, PDF, X_T, IGS and STP.
Prototyping Methods
PlasticNavi’s existing verified prototyping capabilities include 3D printing, CNC machining and rapid prototyping. The method is selected according to what the project needs to evaluate.
